How we rank HVAC companies
Every list on Find My HVAC Repair follows the same published rules. Payment never changes a company's place in a ranked list, and we never call a paid listing "best".
Who gets listed
- An HVAC contractor license with the state board: California CSLB C-20; Arizona ROC 39 classes; Florida DBPR air conditioning contractor; Texas TDLR air conditioning and refrigeration contractor; Nevada NSCB C-21; Idaho HVAC contractor license; Virginia Board for Contractors with the HVAC specialty.
- Locally owned. Where a city has too few local companies, we also list national brands, franchises and companies owned by private-equity groups. They are labeled as such and always ranked after the locally owned companies.
- A real local address and a working phone number and website.
The order
- Licenses we confirmed with the state board come before licenses we have only seen on the company's website.
- Then by year the license was first issued: longer licensed comes first.
- Ties go to the company with more verified services.
Service filters
A company appears under a service (for example Heat pumps or 24-hour emergency) only when its own website describes that service. A service page is published only when at least 3 companies in the city qualify.
Reviews
We do not copy, rewrite or summarise customer reviews. Each listing links to the company's Google reviews so you can read them in full.
Keeping it current
Each city page shows the date it was last checked. Companies can ask for a correction at any time; we recheck the license and website before changing anything.
