About HVAC in Lubbock
Lubbock sits on the High Plains, where the airport station records average July highs of about 93°F and January nights near 26°F, so homes need both air conditioning and a furnace or heat pump. Texas licenses HVAC contractors through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR); a contractor holds an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor license, shown as TACLA (Class A, any size) or TACLB (Class B, smaller systems) followed by a number. Ranked by license record and years licensed, never by payment. Checked 27 October 2026.
